What is Hack IT?
Hack IT is an IT security hackathon, for everyone skilled or not, who want to spend some fun hours of hacking and learning new stuff.
Hack IT takes the term 'hacking' back to its r00t. It is terminals, command prompts and hardcore hacking tools when a wide range of students from different universities and academies with an interest in IT, programming and security unite their abilities and hack away with things.
What are you going to hack?
You have 24 hours to solve as many cases and find as many flags as possible. The cases will initially be presented as a Jeopardy Style hackathon by the caseproviders, who also will give support to get started.
There will be cases for both skilled and beginners. The cases differs in characteristics, difficulty and represent different disciplines.
But no worry, there will be guidance and help to support your efforts.

What can you win?
The winners takes it all, DKK. 10.000 and tickets to Dansk IT's Cyber Security conference in January 2020 [value of DKK. 8.180].

Who participate?
Registration and Participants
We welcome all youngsters under the age of 30 studying an IT related programme from any University or Academy in Denmark and with interest in IT security.
You can either register as an individual or “pairs of two”. DANSK IT will determine the team combinations of 4-5 members each. There are a limited amount of spots available and the deadline for applying is Sunday the 10th of November.
When the number of registrations exceed the limit, there will be a waiting list.

Prerequisites
There are no pre-requisites. Teams will be mixed and competencies equally shared between teams. Further support will be provided during the challenges by domain experts.

Note:
As part of the registration we will require a resumé including a short description of your competencies and your field of interests. The information is used to create the best possible team formations and moreover forwarded to the sponsors, in case they want to contact you afterwards, if your profile fits their needs.

Travel expenses covered
Participants travelling from a long distance can request DANSK IT to give financial aid to cover transportation costs.

Members of Dansk Metal can have their travel expenses covered by Dansk Metal. Only requirement is that the cheapest fare.
Cancellation:
If you are unable to attend the hackathon, please make sure to call DANSK IT (+45 31 21 60 35) or send an email to Fabian Berg (fb@dit.dk) no later than Wednesday the 13th of November at 11:30 am.
No-show or any cancellation after noon on the 13th will result in a DKK 500 cancellation fee.

Accommodation:
It is possible to sleep during night time, but you have to bring your own sleeping pad and sleeping bag.
Food and drinks:
Dansk IT will provide with free meals during the event, and also snacks and drinks for you to enjoy.
